Learn how to use Infusible Ink markers to create one-of-a-kind DIY mugs using the Cricut Mug Press. Yous can draw your own design or allow your Cricut machine practice the drawing for yous. Either fashion, it's actually fun and makes a fantastic DIY souvenir!

Aren't these citrus themed mugs darling? I let my Cricut Maker draw the designs, and so I colored them in with my Infusible Ink markers. With the Cricut Mug Press, I transferred my designs onto mugs in merely a few minutes!

In my terminal Cricut Mug Press tutorial, I showed you how to make mugs using Infusible Ink transfer sheets. And today nosotros're going to make mugs using Infusible Ink markers. The process is very similar, with just a few differences.

With the Cricut Mug Press, you tin can create personalized, giftable mugs in minutes (they're even dishwasher safe!).

How To Use Infusible Ink Markers With The Cricut Mug Printing

Today we're making the orangish mug pictured below! I've linked my Design Infinite file below if you lot'd like to create one for yourself, or else you can follow this tutorial to create your own customized mug using Infusible Ink markers.

Supplies

  • Cricut Mug Printing
  • Cricut Machine
  • Infusible Ink Markers (I used the ane.0 tips and the dual-tips)
  • Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation Re-create Paper
  • Blue Cut Mat
  • Cricut Mug Blank (I'm using the larger 15oz. size for my orange mug)
  • Lint Roller
  • Heat-Resistant Tape
  • Butcher Paper
  • Mug Design File In Cricut Blueprint Space (if yous'd like to make the Lemon mug pictured hither, you can access that pattern file here)

1 – Design Your Mug In Design Infinite

If you desire to use my Orange mug pattern, click here to open up it in Blueprint Space (notation that this is a premade design so you'll need a Cricut Access subscription or need to download that file before cutting). And if you similar my Lemon mug design, download that one here.

2- Turn On Your Mug Printing

Push button the power push on your Mug Press then it can preheat while you lot're working. There are no temperature settings to worry about, the press automatically adjusts to the appropriate time and temperature.

3 – DRAW & Cut YOUR DESIGN

Make certain you mirror your pattern first! Load your Infusible Ink marker and stick laser copy paper onto a blue cutting mat. Load the mat into your car and allow your automobile to draw the design so cut out the template. I used a black marker for this.

iv – Weed Your Blueprint

Unload the cut mat and carefully remove the newspaper. Then you tin can color in your design freehand (I purposely went a flake out of the lines to make it look more "artsy").

five – Use Rut Resistant Tape To Secure Your Design To A Clean Mug

First, lint roll your mug to ensure information technology is clean. And then align your pattern on your mug and use heat-resistant tape to concur information technology in place.

six – Wrap Your Mug With Butcher Paper

Cutting iii sheets of butcher newspaper to the size of your newspaper blueprint and wrap them around the mug, securing with heat-resistant tape.

Note: This is an extra step that is required when using laser paper and Infusible Ink markers. (You don't take to employ butcher newspaper with the Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets).

six – Identify Your Mug In The Press And Push Down The Lever

Property the mug handle, lower your mug into the Cricut Mug Printing. Push down the lever on the Mug Press with 1 hand while holding your mug with the other hand. Ensure the oestrus plate covers your entire blueprint.

Annotation: There are no settings to adapt on the Cricut Mug Press. Once you push button the lever down, the printing will automatically adjust the temperature and time! The indicator lights on the printing will low-cal up and human action as a progress bar.

7 – Carefully Remove Your Mug And Allow To Cool

One time your auto beeps, release the lever and carefully remove your mug. The mug will be very hot, but the handle remains cool to the touch on so it'south safe to hold past the handle. Allow your mug to cool on a heat-safe surface.

8 – Remove Transfer Sheet To Reveal Your Pattern

In one case your mug has cooled downward plenty to touch comfortably, peel off the Infusible Ink and reveal your colorful design!
